Diabetic Neuropathy (DPN)

Eligible Participants:

Age 18-75
Have had diabetes mellitus for at least one year
Have had clinical evidence of DPN for longer than one year,
but less than 5 years
Pain may be described as burning, shooting or stabbing
Partipants are willing to discontinue use of some medications
that may be used to treat DPN pain
DPN is participant’s most painful condition and he/she has no other significant medical conditions

Exclusion: chronic pain more severe than DPN; major depression; toe/limb amputation; unstable medical conditions; participant taking antidepressants
